Join us for a free day of programming for visitors of all ages in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Studio Museum will be open on Monday, January 19 to honor the civil rights activist and community organizer through gallery tours, art-making workshops, and more.
Storytime
11:30 pm and 3:00 pm, The Stoop, Lower Level
A thirty-minute Storytime featuring children's books by authors and illustrators of African descent. Each session connects stories to themes in the exhibitions on view or to artworks in the Studio Museum’s permanent collection.
Dream Keepers: Time-Capsule Artmaking Workshop
12:00–4:00 pm, Education Workshop, 3rd Floor
Create a personal time capsule using a paper tube. Decorate the outside and choose meaningful items or notes to place inside to capture this moment and your dreams for the future.
