A Prayer Group

02.10-02.16.2022

The audio piece A Prayer Group was recorded as an extension of Genesis Jerez’s series of paintings in the exhibition (Never) As I Was: Studio Museum Artist in Residence 2020–21. With A Prayer Group, Jerez—who is guided by her spiritual practice—invites us into a sonic environment of worship. Featuring an audio recording of a prayer group, this collective utterance creates a space of reflection on intentions for all those who choose to listen.
